Lisa Kilawee, MPA, is the 2016 NRHA President, and serves on the Board of Trustees. She previously served as NRHA Secretary, and Chair of the Statewide Health Resources Constituency (CG) Group. Lisa also serves on the Membership Committee, and the annual Conference Planning Committee. She also represents the Statewide Health Resources CG on the NRHA Rural Health Policy Congress. Lisa has been involved in rural health workforce development and telemedicine activities since 1991. She’s led the development of numerous rural projects funded by the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy, the Office for the Advancement of Telehealth, USDA, the CMS Innovation Center, and private funders. Lisa serves on the National Patient Advocacy Foundation’s Elite President’s Council, and is an Ambassador for the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
Lisa is a Clinician Employment Consultant for Ministry Health/Ascension WI, in Steven’s Point, WI. She previously served as the Director of Rural Health Services for Avera Health, based in Sioux Falls, SD. She also served as the Assistant Director, Section of Rural Health at the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota; and was a Program Director at the Community HealthCare Association, the South Dakota and North Dakota Primary Care Association. Lisa has a Master ‘s of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the University of South Dakota (1991), and a B.S., in Political Science from the University of South Dakota. She also completed a Certificate in HIT Management from Dakota State University in March of 2012.
